New Video Collection To Support Virtual SEL
CASEL has partnered with PBS Station ThinkTV to create introductory videos for the SEL core competencies and 10 indicators of schoolwide SEL. During this time of uncertainty, these indicators can help schools create the conditions that support all students and adults holistically and equitably.
New Insights on SEL as a Lever for Equity
As a pandemic and nationwide fight for racial justice amplify longstanding inequities in education and other sectors, CASEL released a new report, Emerging Insights on Advancing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) as a Lever for Equity and Excellence, featuring five insights based on efforts in 20 school districts across the nation.
Educator Tools: Listen to and Learn From Families
Families of students have wisdom to share about how to support children academically, socially, and emotionally. The Culturally Responsive Education Hub includes a tool for educators to have conversations with families during this time, including sample emails, call scripts, and follow-ups in English and Spanish.

CASEL first introduced the term “social and emotional learning” 26 years ago. Tool: Creating Staff Shared Agreements 
Developing shared agreements among staff is an important step between establishing a shared vision and defining specific schoolwide norms and routines to promote SEL. Use this process to co-develop agreements about how all staff can work together, communicate, and interact to achieve a shared vision.
