The Department of Business at Bethel University was tasked in 2014 to cultivate strategic initiatives to grow and develop the department. As a part of this effort, the Bethel Business Academy (BBA) was born. Dr. Chris Kaiser, Associate Professor of Business, and director of the academy will detail the development of this program. The BBA is a three-day overnight academic camp designed to empower high school students to confidently seek a business career centered on their interests and strengths.

Twin Cities Jazz Fest is Back in Mears Park Sept 17 & 18

The Twin Cities Jazz Festival will see its return to Mears Park this month with two days of music in this beautiful urban park. This year’s festival will be headlined by award-winning pianist Kenny Barron and his trio, rising star Emmet Cohen, and trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis with his Quintet. A second stage will be set up on 5th Street and programmed with music to dance to -- like swing, salsa, and funk.

“Throughout the pandemic, the Twin Cities Jazz Festival has remained committed to our musicians, jazz fans and community. For the past eighteen months, we’ve been hosting JAZZ FEST LIVE, a weekly virtual concert series and have watched our numbers soar. We have music lovers logging in from all 50 states and several countries,” said Steve Heckler, Twin Cities Jazz Festival’s Executive Director. “We appreciate all the donations that have allowed us to continue to bring live music into homes weekly. Now we want to bring people together in beautiful Mears Park. Jazz lovers from around the world will also be able to join via our live streaming video.”

To attend the Jazz Fest virtually, simply click the show link(s) on the JAZZ FEST LIVE page. To see more than one show, you'll need to save your spot for each show. To attend the Jazz Fest in person, simply show up. The Twin Cities Jazz Festival is free and open to all. We recommend all attendees be vaccinated and encourage mask wearing.
