This seminar will help both beginners and seasoned professionals gain a better understanding of how to use social media to build and grow a business or nonprofit.
You will learn best practices and strategies that will help you be more effective in using the various social media platforms. This seminar will also give you practical tips and insights that will give you a better understanding of this new media. Registrations are currently being accepted for the third class set for Dec. 16 free soft skills session entitled, "Managing People & Personalities." No single management type works with every employee. Learn how to manage according to personality types and get the most from your team. Share strategies and gain resources that will help you to engage, inspire, and retain employees of every type.

All classes are conducted in the Blount County Library's learning lab located at 508 N. Cusick in Maryville and limited to 50 participants. Those interested must register online at A complete class description is located on the registration site. All classes run from 8-10 a.m. with networking beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The other classes offered include Managing People & Personalities, Tips for Public Speaking, Hiring Good Employees, Motivation and Burnout, Time Management and Managing Change in the Workplace.

This feature is a question-and-answer session with a new Blount County Chamber member. So here we go with our 66th installment visiting with Digit Mollish, nail tech/owner of Salon 309 & Gifts located at 309 Houston St. in Maryville.
Describe what Salon 309 offers. We pamper folks that have worked hard and need a break away from the daily grind of work. We also do manicures, pedicures, foot detox, hair care, massage, sell great products and gifts.
Describe your customers. Jeeze that's a hard question. My customers are more than customers to me. They are more like family, loving, caring, beautiful people. They have supported me and my two children since way back. Maybe it's not such a hard question after all.
