Convenient COVID Testing
at School

Saturday, December 19
Saturday, January 2
11:00am - 2:30pm

Dear Parents:

We are pleased to offer our community two more testing dates at school.

Saturday, December 19
Saturday, January 2

We ask that all families participate in the January 2 testing prior to our return to school in 2021, so we can begin the year in good health. All staff will test on that date.

Remember, registration is required by 6 pm the Friday preceding your test date. but you may also register for both dates at once.

See step-by-step registration instructions at the end of this email.
Please note: the DC government has changed their guidance and will no longer except antigen (often referred to as rapid) tests results to be cleared to return to school--PCR test results will now be required. Families can access a Rt-PCR test in a low stress, familiar location at CCPC. The results will be provided 24 to 48 hours after testing. Collectors will use anterior nasal swabs (a swirl of a q-tip in the nose).

On these Saturday mornings, we will be set up similarly to our morning PreK drop-off, with tests being administered near the crosswalk adjacent to our playground on Chevy Chase Parkway. Please form a single line and wait in your car for instructions. You will remain in your car for the entire process. There is a $20 fee for each test and the rest is billed to your insurance.

We hope this convenient testing option is a helpful resource for our families as COVID case numbers increase across our region. As always, please contact me if you have any questions.

What You Need to Know About Getting Tested for Coronavirus

With appreciation,
We need to hear from you
As you begin making preparations for the upcoming holidays, we want to ensure that everyone is aware of the COVID protocols, policies, and expectations. Please be advised that the below information is based on the most recent guidance provided by the CDC, DC Government, and the DC Department of Health. However, it is subject to change at any time, at the discretion of the aforementioned agencies and/or CCPC Nursery School.

Families and staff are required to follow the travel restrictions established by DC Government. As of today, only the states of Maryland, Virginia, and Hawaii are exempt. On Friday, November 6, 2020 the Mayor’s Office announced the following protocols for individuals returning to DC from a restricted travel state:
Option 1: Limit daily activities* and self-monitor for 14 days upon return
Option 2: Limit daily activities* and obtain a negative test for COVID-19 administered no earlier than 72 hours. Test results must be received in the office prior to your return to school.
*Please be advised that limiting daily activities includes not attending school

If your family plans to travel for Winter Break, you are required to send an email to the office with the Subject: Out of State Travel and provide this information:
  • Location of travel
  • Date of departure
  • Date of return
  • Indication of whether your family intends to follow Option 1 or Option 2

A Question & Answer session will be included.
