Dear 2023 Equity Conference Attendee:

As you know, the San Diego County Office of Education’s Equity Conference brings together educators, board members, families, students, and community members. During the conference, presenters will share best practices and provide educators with learning opportunities to ensure every student has access to a quality education where they feel a sense of belonging. Educators across California and now the nation are drawn this conference. Those like you who attend have taken steps to learn how to become allies in their schools to contribute in making their community safer and more inclusive.

Registration is now open for the Jan. 18 and 19, 2024, conference in San Diego, and the theme is Equity Is Love in Action. We will also have pre-conference sessions on the evening of Jan. 17. We have a great roundup of keynote, featured, and breakout session speakers. Check the website for updates and to stay informed. On day one, we will open the conference with Michelle MiJung Kim, author of the book, The Wake Up: Closing the Gap Between Good Intentions and Real Change. We will also have a mid-day word from Debbie Reese.

On day two, we will open with Donyall Dickie and close the day with Dr. Jeff Duncan Andrade. We will have a host of breakout sessions. More information to come on breakout sessions.

Feel free to share with your network and colleagues so they too can enjoy the conference and share the benefits with their community. Remember to book your room at the Town and Country Resort soon before the block fills up.

We look forward to seeing you in January!
