Registration Reminder
Registration is open for the
2023 virtual AGM

Saturday, May 13, 2023
  • Business Meeting: 8:30 am to 10:30 am
  • Awards & Anniversaries 10:30 am to 11:30 am
 

Registration is a 2-step process. Please answer all the questions on the registration form. Second, complete the Assignment of Delegate form for your Club and forward to the OC AGM Credentials Chair and to your designated voting delegate.
 
Please note that, in order to vote at the AGM, each Club needs to complete an Assignment of Delegate form.

All voting delegates are encouraged to attend a training session before the AGM. These sessions will give you the opportunity to practice logging in and using the electronic voting system. You will be able to complete two or three practice votes during your training session.

You may choose from one of these session times:
  • Wednesday May 10th, 7:00 pm Eastern
  • Thursday May 11th, 10:00 am Eastern

The 2023 Carolyn Day Award for Environmental Action
We’re excited to announce that the winning club of the The Carolyn Day Award for Environmental Action will receive $500.00 to honour their work.

This award is created in honour of Carolyn Day, CFUW Ontario Council Environment Policy Advisor from 2000 until her death in 2018, who wrote more than 40 briefs and letters, attended many meetings on our behalf, and was even called by government on some occasions.
 
Tell us about your work to support the environment - locally, provincially, nationally and internationally.
 
You may download an application form from the OC website here. Complete the application and e-mail it to [email protected]. Applications must be submitted on or before April 19, 2023.

Carolyn Day Award recipients will be recognized for their work at the AGM on May 13, 2023.
Recognizing Membership Successes!
Win $300 for your Club!
The OC Membership Challenge is back! Your Club could win $300 for Recruitment or $300 for Retention. It’s simple to enter. You just need to answer 5 questions for recruitment and/or 5 questions for retention, in 250 words or less for each category. The 5 questions are:

For recruitment of new members:
  • What was your single most effective strategy?
  • How did it work?
  • How did you measure your success?
  • What would you do differently?
  • Have you tried this before?

For retention of new, recent and long-term members?
  • What is your primary strategy?
  • How did you measure your success?
  • What are the results of engaging new members?
  • Would you do anything differently?
  • Why is it successful?

CFUW Toronto Area Clubs - International Women’s Day Event: On March 8th, 78 women who are members and friends of six Toronto area CFUW Clubs, gathered to hear Dr. Diane Saxe speak about Women and their role in the Climate. As a respected environmental lawyer with experience at the provincial, corporate and national levels, Dr. Saxe was able to provide a perspective on the seriousness of the issues. CFUW Southport – International Women’s Day: CFUW Southport celebrated International Women’s Day 2023 on March 8th with a Lunch & Learn meeting at Walker House, Southhampton. Members were invited to wear purple, the official colour of IWD 23 to the meeting. The event featured many fun and interesting activities to celebrate the accomplishments of women. CFUW Aurora/Newmarket's Annual House & Garden Tour June 11th 10am to 4pm
