Legislative Action Day is a key day of the year to show your support for promoting homelessness prevention, housing stability, and economic opportunity, and to learn more about what we can do together to ensure that everyone has a place to call home.

Please see below for more details. Thank you to everyone who already has registered for the event and/or signed up to volunteer!

Register Today to Be Part of

Legislative Action Day 2026

Please register today for Legislative Action Day 2026, taking place at the Massachusetts State House on Thursday, March 5th. Look forward to hearing from inspiring speakers, learning how to advocate with legislators, and meeting with your state legislators and legislative staff to talk about issues and policy recommendations to address homelessness in Massachusetts.

This year's Legislative Action Day event will be hosted by State Representative Jim O'Day in the Great Hall (second floor). Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the formal agenda will run 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. In the afternoon, participants will meet with legislative offices. Just indicate on your registration form if you need help setting up meetings with your legislators, and we will work with you to set up appointments. During the meetings, pick a few of our priorities that are most important to you and let legislators and staff know why!

At Legislative Action Day, we will be pushing for key legislative priorities, such as putting the Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) homelessness prevention program into state statute and ensuring that benefits are available to families and individuals earlier in a housing or utility crisis ("upstream"); easing access to Mass ID cards for people experiencing homelessness; expanding the bridge subsidy program for older adults facing housing instability; restoring the right to shelter for children and families; improving the HomeBASE housing support program for children and families; strengthening cash assistance programs for families with children, older adults, and people with disabilities; creating more housing subsidies under the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program; and passing the bill of rights for people experiencing homelessness.
