Physician Aid-in-Dying Survey Sent to Members
On April 12, the MMA distributed a brief survey seeking member input on policy recommendations developed by the MMA's Physician Aid-in-Dying Task Force, which met in 2016. The task force's recommendations as well as the results of the survey will be shared with the Board of Trustees at its May 20 meeting. If you haven't responded to the survey, please do. Reminder emails will go out April 19 and April 26 before the survey closes on May 3.
Two Weeks Away: Forum to Discuss Future of Health Care Reform
Congress continues to look at ways to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. What will the result mean for how medicine is practiced in Minnesota?  Be part of the discussion at a forum on April 25. It will feature both local and national experts. For more information, click here.
New Physician-Focused Payment Models Recommended

The Stearns Benton Medical Society will host the St. Cloud Dementia Care Summit on April 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Cloud River's Edge Convention Center. Read more here.
Save the Date: Annual Conference Date Changed to Sept. 23
The date for this year's Annual Conference has been moved to Saturday, Sept. 23, so that it does not conflict with Rosh Hashanah. The MMA scheduled the event for Sept. 22 more than two years ago and missed the scheduling conflict. We apologize for the inconvenience. The event will take place at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester. 
Pharmacy Board Looking for Integration Help with PMP, EMR
The Minnesota Board of Pharmacy is seeking proposals from qualified Minnesota health care entities, Minnesota licensed pharmacies and state-certified Health Information Exchange service providers - Health Information Organizations (HIE-HIO) to integrate access to Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) data into the electronic clinical workflow using an electronic medical record (EMR) or pharmacy operations software. Application deadline is 4 pm on May 10. Total amount of funding available is $200,000. For more information, click here
New Opioid Lectures Now Available Online
Four more lectures in the Pain, Opioids and Addiction series are now available online. The free lectures include: "What is Addiction?;" "Drugs of Abuse from A to Z;" "Opioid Antagonists;" and "Communicating with Chronic Pain Patients." The series is a collaboration between the MMA, the Steve Rummler Hope Foundation, and the University of Minnesota Medical School. CME and MOC are available.
