Broadening Our Landscape Vision: Ecology, Culture, and Art
A Virtual Education Series
June - September, 2021

This summer's programming will be organized in two tracks: 1) Professional Practitioners and 2) Home Gardeners, Students, & Educators.
Join the room - virtually - for our Prairie-side Chat Series as Larry Weaner interviews and compares notes with influential practitioners including Thomas Woltz, Leslie Sauer, & Tom Wessels.
Topics for professionals will range from ecology-based landscape design, to culturally reflective landscapes, to the art of making “wild” landscapes legible. Larry Weaner will also teach a five-part intensive course on native design, planting, and management.
Home gardeners and educators will explore ways to create landscapes that are ecologically healthy, easily managed, and beautiful on residential and educational properties.
Students interested in the landscape field will learn about what it takes to enter the field, and the opportunities and challenges of starting a small landscape construction or maintenance business, particularly when few resources are available.
