DESCRIPTION

Positive social and emotional development and learning in the early years provides an important foundation for lifelong learning and development, including mental health. Building social and emotional learning every day starts with relationships and supportive learning environments.


Intentional and explicit teaching increases young children's social and emotional development and competence. This session will include - what to teach, when to teach, and how to teach when focusing on social and emotional skills. ECE educators, providers, parents, and caregivers will gain immediate and practical information they can utilize immediately.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES


Participants will be able to:


+Identify 2 - 3 ways to connection that sustain relationships 


+Describe 2 - 3 ways to help children create and strengthen relationships with other children 


+Identify 2 - 3 ways to recognize, express, identify, and manage emotional functioning


+Explain the characteristics that create a sense of belonging and identity

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Providers working with young children ages 0-5 and their families.


2 CEs available for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, LEPs, and RNs.
