DESCRIPTION

In January Medi-Cal changed eligibility requirements to provide access to all individuals, regardless of immigration status. This training will discuss how Medi-Cal policy has changed over time and how its expansion impacts immigrant households. Participants will learn from a panel of experts about these policy changes and identify barriers to access, including public charge concerns, as well as additional public benefit resources.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Providers working with families with young children ages 0-5. Providers working with low income and/or immigrant households.

Participants will be able to:



+Describe the recent changes in Medi- Cal eligibility as it pertains to immigrant families 


+Identify at least 2 community resources in for enrolling in Medi- Cal


+Identify at least 2 additional public benefits programs in which immigrant families can enroll
