The Business of Being an Artist, offered by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, is a series of virtual workshops that is free and open to any artist, teaching artist, or folk artist who lives and/or works in the state of New Jersey.

When: October 30, 2025 | 1:00 – 2:30 PM

 

What: Led by Jim Bracchitta, Managing Director of Health Services for the Entertainment Community Fund, this webinar will give you clear, step-by-step guidance on what all your insurance options are and how to get the most affordable coverage to fit your needs in this changing landscape. During this webinar, you’ll learn about Affordable Care Act plans, Medicaid, COBRA, and how to get discounted care if you’re uninsured. This is an excellent opportunity for unbiased, comprehensive information from an experienced health insurance navigator. (Please note: Medicare will not be covered in this webinar.)

Who: Jim Bracchitta is the Managing Director of Health Services at the Entertainment Community Fund, a national human services organization that helps everyone who works in performing arts and entertainment. In addition to his work at the Fund, Jim has been a working actor (Broadway, film, TV, commercials) in NY for 35+ years. He also serves as a trustee on the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan, as well as the SAG Pension Plan; is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS); and is on the faculty of the Trustee Masters Program at the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

How: Registration is FREE but required to access the workshop materials and the Zoom links. Registration will close on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
