The synods of ELCA Region 5 (the synods of Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and the Northern Great Lakes Synod) are collaborating to present annual boundaries education for rostered leaders. The purpose of this collaboration is, in part, to show a shared commitment to boundaries education, to create and sustain professional ministry leadership in our synods, for safety in our communities of faith, and to pool our resources in an effort to offer high quality educational events.
The collaborative education will follow a three-year cycle including Professional Boundaries, Gender Justice, and Racial Justice.
This year's focus is Professional Boundaries. The event will be on:
Thursday, November 7
9:00am to 3:00pm
The class will be offered at three locations in the South-Central Synod of Wisconsin. You are welcome to choose the location that best fits your needs.
-
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mt. Horeb (315 E. Main St., Mt. Horeb, WI 53572)
-
Immanuel Lutheran Church, Watertown (209 N. 9th St., Watertown, WI 53094)
-
McFarland Lutheran Church, McFarland (5529 Marsh Rd., McFarland, WI 53558)
The education day will consist of two live sessions presented via Zoom, connecting all of the participating synods for worship in the morning and a live Q&A with the presenter in the afternoon. Each location will then watch and discuss pre-recorded sessions.
Ongoing boundaries education is expected of all rostered leaders in the ELCA. This annual offering will fulfill that requirement.
The cost of the training is $100. Lunch and refreshments are included in the registration fee.
