(Vail, Colo.) - Registration will open at 9 a.m. on Sat, Jan. 20 at vailrec.com/register for the following 2024 Vail Recreation District sports camps: baseball, basketball, cheerleading, flag football, lacrosse, pickleball, soccer, sports training, tennis and volleyball. Scholarships are available, apply at vailrec.com.

Campers learn skills on both sides of the ball, including the core components of passing, catching and defense. Using a curriculum developed by Skyhawks and USA Football®, athletes will also develop and refine their movement ABCs – agility, balance, coordination, strength and speed. ROCKY MOUNTAIN BASEBALL CAMP

VRD lacrosse camp is now powered by Vail Valley Lacrosse Club and its team of professional coaches! Learn from some of the area's best in a safe and fun environment. Lacrosse combines the basic skills used in soccer, basketball, and hockey into one fast paced, high scoring game. Athletes will learn all the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting, all in a fun, non-checking environment.

Join 2006 Battle Mountain State Champion and Player of the Year, 2010 Division I Player of the Year for the Colonial Athletic Association, professional volleyball player, and Former Laramie County Community College Volleyball Coach Britney (Brown) Branson for a fun-filled and energetic volleyball camp. Britney, who currently coaches volleyball at Vail Christian High School, will share her passion for the game and provide insights into being a successful player. The first part of each day of camp will be focused on drills, and the second part will be competitive play.

Participants are coached by NBA Hall of Fame inductee, All-Pro Sidney Moncrief and his award-winning staff during this four-day camp, which concentrates on learning new skills while building on the fundamentals of shooting, passing, dribbling, footwork and defense. This is the tenth season that the VRD has hosted Moncrief and his staff to Vail. Moncrief is known for his time playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks, including qualifying to the Final Four in 1978 prior to earning all-star status in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks. Moncrief was awarded Defensive Player of the Year twice as a player and has coached several teams in the NBA, in addition to 20 years of clinic experience. Skyhawks cheerleading teaches young athletes all the essential skills to lead the crowd and support the home team. Skyhawks' cheer camp will ensure that each camper will learn cheers, proper hand and body movements as well as jumping techniques. There is no stunting, just a big focus on fun while each cheerleader learns important life skills such as team building and leadership. The week concludes with a choreographed performance.
