WEEKLY WRAP UP for Friday, March 13, 2020

Don't miss out on the great shopping and great fun happening in Taylor this weekend. See details below in the Member News and Events section of this newsletter.

A message from your Chamber
The Covid-10 virus has been unsettling and it is best to do whatever we can to mitigate our risk.
    Here are some practical ideas...
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.
The Centers for Disease Control has tips for what you can do at your home, business, event (generally, guidelines say be cautious of events of more than 1,000 people), your school and your church. You can find those by clicking HERE
Williamson County, so far has 0 reported cases (learn more about that by clicking HERE. The Chamber will keep an eye on this and we will share information via Facebook. You can follow the Williamson County and Cities Covid-19 reports HERE.

Reservations close TODAY for 'State of our City'
Today is the last day to register for  Taylor Mayor Brandt Rydell's "State of our City" address at the monthly Chamber program on Monday, March 16, at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, 180 Carlos G. Parker Blvd. NW.
Attending the event costs $15 and can be paid in advance at the Chamber office, 1519 N. Main St., on the website, CLICK HERE , or over the phone, 512-352-6364.
Thrall County Diner will provide the meal this month and Citizens National Bank is sponsoring the program.
Restaurants and caterers interested in getting on the calendar are encouraged to call or email the Chamber.
Monthly meeting sponsorships are available for $100 (a $150 value) and will include two lunches, time to talk about your business, advertising on table tents and your business mentioned in all related marketing materials. Call us at 512-352-6364 to learn more.

 Taylor counts!
Census details and forms are in the mail as we speak. Watch for them to learn how to fill out the Census online.
It's nine simple questions about the person answering the survey and up to six about each other person in the home. The number varies because things like "Do you live in a home, apartment..." only need to be answered one time.
Census data cannot be used to determine custody or anything like that so parents sharing children should complete the form based on where the child or children sleep on April 1 which is the official Census Day.
If you do not have a computer, smart phone or tablet where you can complete the Census, the Taylor Public Library, at 801 Vance St. has computers anyone can use.
Find out more about why the census matters for Texas and Williamson County as well as how you can help at  www.texas counts.org
