Providers often raise the question of how to respond to people who don’t want to change a behavior that providers feel is harmful. When people continue with these behaviors, despite our best efforts to help “fix it,” they are often labeled as “resistant”.

In this webinar, we will apply principles and strategies of motivational interviewing to help providers recognize behaviors and statements that indicate a person is not ready to consider change. We will then describe how providers can respond in a way that preserves the helping relationship and continues the conversation. Finally, participants will learn and practice four specific skills that they can immediately begin using in these conversations.

You will earn a certificate for participating in this webinar.

CEUs will not be provided.
