The Time has Come!!

Membership & Program Registration

It is that time of year again! Caledonia Nordic membership registration is officially open for the 2026/27 season, and there is already lots to be excited about.

Early Bird membership rates are available until November 30, so get registered and start getting ready for another great winter at Otway. Purchase online or come in for a visit to save credit card fees on our famous Cash/Cheque days.

We are excited for some amazing conditions this season, and we have a solid snowmaking plan in place to get everyone out on skis at the earliest opportunity while supporting all the natural snow. Once winter really gets going, there is going to be lots happening around the club!

B & E Good Eats will be back in the lodge on weekends with some amazing food to break up your ski day. We have so many great events returning, and a few new ones in the pipes, including the Two Rivers Loppet, which we are really excited to bring back this winter.

Also, our team has been hard at work this week building our new dog trail loop, which will add even more options for getting out and exploring Otway with your four-legged ski partner.

We are even working on MORE reciprocal partnerships that will give Caledonia Nordic members even more opportunities to get out and ski at other Nordic clubs this winter. No membership works harder!

And, of course, our programs are opening up as well! Check out information and registration links below for:

There is a lot happening, and we are just getting started. Great skiing, great food, new trails, so many amazing events, new programs and lots more to come.

It is going to be an awesome winter. We cannot wait to see everyone back at Otway!

Skill Development Program:

Bunnies, Jack Rabbits, Jackalopes

Now that you have your Caledonia Nordic membership, it is time to get the kids signed up for our Skills Development Program (SDP)!

SDP is all about getting kids outside, building their skills and confidence on skis, exploring the trails, playing games and, most importantly, having fun in the snow with their friends.

From our littlest Bunny Tots and Bunnies just getting comfortable on skis, through our Jackrabbits and Jackalopes who are ready to explore more of trail network, there is a place for every young skier. You do not need to have a future Olympian on your hands—we just want kids excited to put on their skis and get outside!

And parents... we need you too!

Some of the best coaches in our program are parents who decided to give coaching a try. You do not need to be an expert skier or have any previous coaching experience. We provide the training, support and mentorship—you bring some enthusiasm and a willingness to spend a few pretty great winter days outside with a group of kids.

Every additional coach also means we can get more kids into the program, create smaller groups and give everyone an even better experience. Plus, it is a pretty great way to be involved in your child's sport, improve your own skiing and become part of an awesome group of volunteers.

Register the kids, consider joining them as a coach, and get ready for another great winter with Caledonia Nordic!

NEW This Year

Nordic Adventure Program!

Looking for something beyond a traditional ski program? Nordic Adventure is brand new this year and built for youth ages 13+ who want to stay active, improve their skiing, explore new places and have some pretty great adventures along the way.

This is not a race program or a structured competitive training program. Nordic Adventure is about being outside, building fitness and skills, challenging yourself and having fun with a group of friends.

And we mean adventure!

The fall program gets things started with trail running, hiking, fitness, skills and other cross-training adventures around Prince George. Then, when the snow arrives, the winter program moves onto skis with skill development, longer outings, trail adventures and opportunities to explore beyond Otway.

We are also hoping to hit the road! Regional adventures could take the group to Quesnel, Williams Lake, Burns Lake and other Nordic destinations, with opportunities to participate in loppets throughout the winter. Loppets are encouraged, but this is not about chasing results. Pick a distance, take on a challenge and enjoy the experience.

Who is it for?

Nordic Adventure is designed for skiers 13+ who have basic skate and classic ski skills and are comfortable being active for 1.5–2 hours. More importantly, we are looking for youth who are ready to explore, try new things and get outside in all kinds of conditions.

Families can choose the Fall Adventure Program, Winter Adventure Ski Program, or both. The fall program is a great way to prepare for winter, but it is not required to join the winter program.

And parents, there is a place for you in this adventure too! We are looking for volunteer coaches and parent leaders who can help lead a run or hike, share an outdoor skill, help organize a trip, coordinate transportation or simply lend a hand along the way.

This is a new program, which means we also have the freedom to have some fun with it. Activities and adventures can change as opportunities come up throughout the season.

Run. Hike. Ski. Explore. Travel. Try something new.

Let’s see where Nordic Adventure takes us this year!

Ready for the Next Challenge? Let’s Race!

Track Attack, Laser Bears, XC & Biathlon Junior Racing, Varsity

For young skiers who are ready to build their skills, challenge themselves and discover just how much fun training and racing can be, our Junior Racing and Varsity Programs are the place to be this winter!

Whether your athlete is making the jump from Jackrabbits, wants to try racing for the first time, is curious about biathlon, or is already chasing their next goal, there is a pathway for them at Caledonia Nordic.

Track Attack is a great introduction to the racing side of Nordic skiing—building ski skills, fitness, confidence and a love of going fast, while keeping things fun and giving athletes a chance to experience events and racing.

Laser Bears is back and gives young athletes the chance to add something completely different to their winter. Using our laser rifle equipment, athletes can get an introduction to the skills and excitement of biathlon in a fun and supportive environment. No previous biathlon experience required!

And for athletes ready for more, our Cross Country and Biathlon Junior Racing and Varsity Programs offer the opportunity to train, race, travel, set goals and see where the sport can take them.

The best part? They get to do it with an incredible group of athletes and coaches. We have an outstanding Head Coaching team and a volunteer coaching crew that puts an unbelievable amount of energy into helping our young athletes learn, grow and have a great experience in sport.

Racing does not have to mean chasing podiums. It can mean trying your first race, learning a new skill, travelling with your teammates, setting a personal goal, skiing faster than you did last year or simply discovering that you love being part of a team.

Track Attack. Laser Bears. Cross Country. Biathlon.

There are lots of ways to get started and lots of places these programs can take you.

Come join the team. This is going to be a pretty awesome winter!

Think Racing is Just for the Kids?

Not a Chance!

Our Masters Biathlon Program is back this fall/winter and is a great way for adults to build their skills, challenge themselves and enjoy everything that makes biathlon such an awesome sport.

Whether you have been racing for years, are returning to the sport, or are still figuring out how skiing hard and then trying to hit a target is supposed to work, there is a place for you!

Masters is about skiing, shooting, improving your technique and having fun with a great group of people. There are opportunities to train, challenge yourself and race if that is your thing—but you certainly do not need to be chasing podiums to be part of the program.

Our coaching team will help you develop your ski and shooting skills, build confidence and get more out of your time on snow. And there is something pretty motivating about training alongside a group of people who are all out there trying to get a little better.

Come for the training. Try a race. Set yourself a goal. Or just come out because biathlon is ridiculously fun.

The kids do not get to have all the fun this winter. Come join our Masters Biathlon crew!

I need more masters photos, this is Dave's second time in the spotlight
