Because we really enjoy each others company!
When I interviewed with the Search Committee, one of the questions I asked them was to describe for me a time when this congregation is ‘on fire,’ at it’s best, fully engaged and on task. I also asked this question of the Board and many of you. And guess what? You ALL had the same answer: “The Holiday Fair.”
“What about the Holiday Fair makes that so?” I’d ask.
“Everyone is involved,” came the answer. (Yes, you actually agreed on something!)
You enjoy each other's company. It’s that simple. It’s why the dinners sell so well at our annual auction. You enjoy each other's company. You enjoy breaking bread together. And the less formal the gathering, the better!
Well friends, here is an opportunity to do just that. Each and every year a pile of folks from the church heads out to the Ferry Beach Conference Center located in beautiful Saco, Maine (the way life should be Maine!) for a few last days of summer, informal fellowship, relaxed conversations on the porch or the beach, some singing around the campfire (s'mores included), crafts and the infamous ‘talent-no-talent-show’.
Last year's gathering was intimate as we were emerging from COVID lock-down. It sure would be awesome to have more of you with us this year. The pricing is pretty reasonable (starting at $90 per night for lodging, or $45 per night if camping, plus $75 per person for 5 meals).
This year the dates for our Ferry Beach adventure are Friday, September 9 - Sunday, 11th. We may check-in at 4:00 PM on Friday, and while we must be out of our rooms by 10:00 AM on Sunday, we may use common areas and the beach until 4:00 PM.
So, come one, come all…the more the merrier! Bring your sunscreen, bring a good book, bring your talent-no-talent and we’ll see you on the beach!

This year each member will again register directly with Ferry Beach by clicking HERE. You will need to indicate your room/camping preference and meal plan. Registration is on a first come first serve basis, so I suggest registering ASAP. However, the final deadline for registration is August 28th.
*If finances for a weekend at Ferry Beach are a stumbling block, let us help you turn them into stepping stones! We have some financial assistance available.
