Registration is now open for the last session of this year's The Business of Being an Artist Virtual Workshop Series.

 

June 18 | "Meet and Mingle: Peer-to-Peer Artist Networking Event"

The Business of Being an Artist, offered by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, is a series of virtual workshops that is free and open to any artist, teaching artist, or folk artist who lives and/or works in the state of New Jersey.

Meet and Mingle: Peer-to-Peer Artist Networking Event


When: June 18, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET


What: This virtual networking opportunity is designed to connect artists, folk artists, and teaching artists from across the state. Participants will engage in speed networking opportunities, structured peer group discussion, and teaching artist-led workshops to spark connection and creativity. When registering, participants will have the option to sign up for a digital business card swap to keep the connection and networking going long after the event is over.


How: Registration is FREE but required to access the workshop materials and the Zoom links. Registration will close on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. No late registrations will be accepted.

Schedule of Events (Times are estimated.)

 

10:00 – Speed Networking. Participants will be placed in small breakout rooms to quickly connect, share information, and learn about other artists in your state.


10:25 – Participants join loosely moderated discussions on the following topics: Cross-Sector Collaborations, Arts and Health, South Jersey Artists, and Documenting and Sharing Your Work. Participants are welcome to visit more than one discussion.


10:55 - Break. Participants will be placed in the waiting room.


11:00 – Introduction to Artist Sessions


11:05 – Artist Sessions begin. Participants will select one, hands-on, teaching artist-led workshop session to participate in. Sessions will be active and participation will be encouraged. Choose from the following:
