The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a final rule to require fleet-wide averages of roughly 49 mpg for model year 2026 passenger cars and light trucks. Effective July 1.
The Food & Drug Administration will host public meetings on June 13 & 15 regarding two proposed rules on menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars. Comments on the proposed rules are due July 5.
The Federal Communications Commission issued a proposed rule to "better align financial incentives of utilities and attachers with respect to pole replacements" to increase broadband access. Comments due June 27.
The Dept. of Homeland Security issued a temporary final rule to extend expiring certain employment authorization documents from 180 days to up to 540 days from the expiration date. Effective May 4.
The EPA issued a draft policy assessment for Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards. Comments due May 31.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a notice of proposed rulemaking to "reform both the pro forma Open Access Transmission Tariff and the pro forma Large Generator Interconnection Agreement." Comments due July 18.
