Dewey Street Kickoff!

We officially started our newest project on Friday, November 18, at a kickoff celebration. Our Dewey Street property will be a renovation of a fire-damaged house. Ivy and her family will be purchasing this 3 bed 1 bath home. During the kickoff, Ivy started the demo by taking off a broken shutter. We are excited that Ivy and her family will be moving to Ashland. Ivy's biggest concern with her current living conditions is the violence. We hope that this property will give them a safe and secure home and give them a sense of peace. Read Ivy's bio here and see more pictures from the ceremony.

Upcoming Faith Build

We are getting closer to the start of our Faith Build project! We are still looking for more churches to participate - either by serving, praying, or giving. The participation of local faith-based organizations is critical in helping us make this project a success! Email Amanda Gunter at agunter@hkwhabitat.org to let us know how you plan on participating. Faith Build information and resources can be found online

Recycle Update!

The Novelis Can Competition ended in November. In the last 3 months, we collected 2,688 pounds. That brought us $1,273 to go towards building affordable homes and making critical repairs in Hanover and King William. Thank you to all who helped us reach this number!

End-of-Year Giving

Gifts in this holiday season can bring more than hope. A gift to Hanover and King William Habitat also means home, safety, and security for many local families. To make a gift before the end of the year, go online before midnight, Saturday, December 31. If you prefer to mail a check, it must be postmarked no later than December 31. The mailing address is P.O. Box 2604 Mechanicsville, VA 23116-0020.
