Join us for our 50th Anniversary Concerts!

formal chorus

Current Pemi Choral singers, former singers and new singers are invited to our first rehearsal on Monday, January 22, 2024

Rehearsals begin next Monday at the Silver Center in Plymouth for our May concerts “Sweet Rivers.” This semester we will have two special 50th Anniversary concerts performed on May 4th at the Colonial Theatre in Laconia at 7:30 pm, and May 5th at the PSU Silver Center at 3:00 pm.

Registration for the spring semester begins at 6:15 pm on the 22nd.  The registration fee is $50 (waived for students), which helps to cover the cost of music and other chorus expenses.  The fee can be paid any time during the first three rehearsals.

Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, with optional sectional rehearsals at 6:30 pm.  Detailed information can be found at pemichoral.org.

Pemi Choral Music Director Will Gunn is excited to begin rehearsals celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the chorus.

Pemi Choral is lucky to welcome back our Collaborative Pianist Laura Belanger.

The Spring Concerts feature a commissioned work celebrating our 50th Anniversary

The commissioned piece was composed by internationally recognized composer Moira Smiley. It is based on the poem "Flying" by former PSU professor Jane Babin, who died from ALS in 2015.

"I recently turned in a setting of NH poet Jane Babin’s experience of living with ALS. It’s a poem describing her flying dreams and imagination as an escape from the pain and limitations of this disease in her body. She was such an inspiration to, and beloved by her community that they asked that her words be set to music. Premiering in May with @pemichoral @willdotg"
