Reign of Christ!
The Arkive: Ark and Dove's Newsletter
Celebrate the Reign of Christ this Sunday
at both the 9:30 (choir led) and 11:00 (band led) services!
Message from Pastor Jon
Dear Friends and Members of Ark and Dove,

I hope this week was a time of gratitude and thanksgiving for you and your family.

This coming Sunday we will welcome Margaret McGillivray as our new Music Director at 9:30 am. Margaret is incredibly talented and quite fun to be around. You will see both on Sunday morning. At each of the services, we will say a pray for both Margaret and Patrick Sise as they begin their music ministry at Ark and Dove. Also on Sunday at 9:30, we will baptize Callie Tisdale. Worship at both services will be full of joy.

This coming week marks the end of the church year. On the last Sunday of the church year, we celebrate the reign of Christ. In worship, we praise God for the ways Christ guides us here and now and anticipate the day when the ways of Christ are experienced in full. On the following week, we begin the Advent season.

Verse and Prayer
Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
-Revelation 1:4-5

God in Christ: grant me the mind of Christ, that I might be understanding. Give me the heart of Christ, that I might be more loving. Grant me the will of Christ, that I might live with intention. Give me the passion of Christ, that I might be more compassionate. Today and in my days to come, let Christ rule in my life. Amen.

Notes for you!
This Sunday would be my last Sunday serving as the interim Music Director at Ark and Dove. I have had such a fun time working with the choir. I hope this is not the end. I am very much looking forward to more performing opportunities under our new Music Director, Margaret McGillvray’s leadership. Margaret and I will both be at the service this Sunday to bring you some wonderful music. For our anthem, the choir will be singing “ O Holy City, Seen of John”, arranged by Roger Price. Come and meet our new Music Director! Welcome, Margaret!

Interim Music Director

I'm very excited to join you in worship this Sunday! I'll be performing my own arrangement of John Wyeth's Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing for horn and piano, assisted by the wonderful Dorene Chen. I want to thank Dorene for choosing and preparing the other music for the service and for her gracious leadership and help with transitions over the past month. I'd also like to thank Pastors Tim and Jon for their warm welcome to the Ark & Dove family and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead. Pat and I are hatching plans!

Holiday Flowers
Flowers for Holy Days
The Ark and Dove flower team takes donations not only for Easter and Christmas, but year-round. You may add to the Sunday worship anytime with flowers. You may bring your own (made by yourself or a florist) or donate for the flower team to purchase flowers and create an arrangement in your name/cause. These donations could be for a graduation, birthday, anniversary or maybe just an arrangement to say I love you. Also, if you like to do arrangements (or just like flowers) the flower team can always use new ideas and contributions. Please contact Paula Griggs at 443-510-6687 or or feel free to fill out the flower contribution form on the bulletin board.
