Greetings and Happy Holidays dear Reiki friends!   It's such a busy and hectic time of year. Everything can seem excessive---shopping, decorating, cooking, eating, and extra commitments with family and friends. At times we may feel stretched thin and energetically depleted. Now is the time to weave Reiki through your holidays. This gentle healing energy can offer you serenity and balance in many ways. Here are some suggestions for you....

Reiki for You
During the holidays expectations can sometimes run very high. Holidays can also be very emotional---bringing forward old hurts, disappointments, grief, and loneliness. It is so important to practice daily Reiki for self-care...taking time to show loving kindness to yourself. Here is a simple exercise: stand before a mirror, place your Reiki hands over your heart and simply smile at yourself for a few minutes. Gaze at yourself with eyes of love and total acceptance. Say to yourself, "I fill my heart with Reiki. It restores and replenishes me mind, body, and spirit." (K. Lipinski, 2012)

Reiki for Family Situations
Spending time with family during the holidays can be stressful for many reasons. Before such gatherings, find time to offer Reiki to yourself for a few minutes. Then send distant Reiki to the upcoming event or situation and to the people involved for the highest good of all. During family gatherings, excuse yourself for some quiet Reiki time to calm and ground yourself.

Reiki and Holiday Activities
Connect with Reiki and spend some quiet time to plan your holiday activities. Consider choosing activities that are meaningful for you rather than participating out of habit or a sense of obligation. Seek ways to be of service personally or as a family. Participate in activities that will be joyful and create treasured memories both for you and your family.  Sometimes less is more.

Reiki and Gifts
Spend some quiet Reiki time to think about your gift gifting practices. Sometimes we buy gifts just for the sake of giving something. Consider making a donation to a special charity in honor of the person. Or give the gift of time. Plan an outing that will be special for the recipient. This is a wonderful gift especially for children and elderly folks.

"Reiki-fy" Your Home
You can fill your home with the peace and serenity of Reiki which is beneficial for all who come into your home. S end Reiki from your hands, your heart, and your very being. Visualize that beautiful, warm Reiki energy flowing throughout your entire home. You can use a mantra such as, "I bless my home with light and love." Spend a few minutes repeating this mantra or create an intention of your own. You can do a moving meditation walking through your home and filling your living spaces with this lovely, peaceful energy.

Reiki for Others
Be mindful that many people do not have friends or family with whom to share holidays. There are also those who have lost loved ones near the holidays which can create a sense of sadness and loss. You can send distant Reiki to those who are having difficult times during the holidays.  Here is a mantra that you can use, "May Reiki blessings flow continuously and abundantly to anyone in need of healing now."

A Reiki Blessing for You

May today you experience peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you.  May you be content with yourself just the way you are.
