Reimagining Service Forum at the Conference on Volunteering and Service
Each year, our Reimagining Service Forum (Session ID: 4622), at the Conference on Volunteering and Service, focuses on an original theme connected to reimagining volunteer roles, and this year will be no different. On 6/17, at 2:30 pm EST, our Forum will explore the opportunities and realities of partnerships between nonprofits and companies in support of effective volunteer engagement. The Forum will offer:
  • Insights that reveal how "principles of partnership" play out in day-to-day work between nonprofits and companies.
  • Interactive and candid discussion from panelists and in small groups on how to develop and sustain thriving partnerships.

You can read about the cross-sector backgrounds of our speakers , and we look forward to seeing many of you at the conference!

Meet our Bank of America Fellows

For the summer, Reimagining Service has selected four smart and motivated Bank of America Service Leadership Fellows from our three partner campuses: Georgetown University, Stanford University, and University of California, Berkeley. Complete biographies will be posted soon to our website, and here is a brief introduction:

  • In August, Erica Fox and Jayati Sethi will enter their second year of graduate school at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University.
  • Safeena Mecklai recently graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with an undergraduate degree in media studies and a minor in public policy, and will start the Coro Fellows Program in New York City this fall.
  • Katherine Tice is a master's candidate at Stanford's Ford Dorsey Program in International Policy Studies.

The summer fellows will be working on a range of projects including: researching and identifying volunteer engagement practices in the public sector, broadening our library of case studies to include examples of companies and funders that invest in volunteer engagement, and developing resources related to cross-sector partnerships between nonprofits and companies. We're excited to have them join us and want to give special recognition to Bank of America for its continued support of this program.
