Many members have asked about Tuesday's
gubernatorial executive order
that all non-essential businesses and operations close their physical locations.
This directive does not include restaurants serving takeout or curbside services
. Also, it's important to note that hotels are considered essential businesses and are not effected by any closure orders. However if a hotel or inn serves food it should be delivered to rooms, not served in a dining room.
Regardless of the Governor’s order, or separate Shelter at Home directives in Portland, Bangor or any other city, the entire state is now open for takeout, curbside, delivery or drive through.
Takeout consists of going into a business to pick up an order, but patrons must come and go quickly, not congregate, practice the six-foot space guidance and cannot consume food and/or beverages on the premises while waiting. Review the

Local ordinances on plastic bag bans are suspended due to concerns on multi-use bags and the virus pandemic. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection will not enforce the statewide restrictions on the use of single-use bags until January 15, 2021.
