Lincoln Club Makes First Round of Candidate Donations for 2022; General Election Comes into Focus

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 1, 2022

Denver, CO – The Lincoln Club of Colorado (LCC), the state’s oldest Republican allied organization, congratulates the winners in the various Republican primary elections that took place around the state Tuesday, and is also pleased to announce the first round of candidate donations.

For the first time in recent memory, the Lincoln Club of Colorado made its initial round of donations before the primary election, recognizing the potential for 2022 to be an "Opportunity Election" for the Grand Old Party, unlike we have seen in some time. Democratic super majorities in Colorado and Washington DC have led to record levels of inflation impacting our household finances, record levels of crime threatening our safety in our communities, and a deterioration of education in our schools compromising the opportunities for our next generations.

“Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican President of the United States, led our nation through years of bitter civil war,” said Brett Moore, President of the club. “Uniting and organizing America's freedom-loving people is as necessary for survival today as it was then. The slate of Republican candidates we now have heading into the general election in November is the strongest we had in many years, and we are proud and honored to support these candidates to help bring balance, common sense, and good governance back to Colorado.”

The club is pleased to have provided the following contributions for Colorado State Senate Candidates to help take back that chamber:

Robert Woodward - $2000

Stephen Varela - $2000

Matt Solomon - $2000

Courtney Potter - $2000

Dennis Hisey - $1000

“I’m pleased that the Lincoln Club’s membership is booming and that this has permitted us to make extraordinary pre-primary contributions to Republican candidates not facing primary opponents,” said Chris Murray, the Lincoln Club of Colorado’s Political Committee Chair. “This year presents a real opportunity to return the Party of Lincoln to government in Colorado. I’m hopeful we’ll be able to make additional contributions after the primary to build on our momentum.”

The Lincoln Club encourages Republicans across Colorado to support these candidates and stay tuned as we add more candidates to our donation list to help take back our state.
