Clean Power Alliance Offers Discount Program for Residents

Ventura, Calif. —  The Clean Power Alliance (CPA) announced a new discount option called the Power Share Program, which provides a 20% discount to customers who receive 100% renewable energy. Nearly 6,500 participants will be accepted into the discount program, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To participate in Power Share, customers must live in a “Disadvantaged Community” (DAC) as defined by the State of California and be eligible for the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) or Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) financial assistance programs.

“The City of Ventura is working towards a more resilient future for our community by participating in innovative programs that preserve our air and water quality in the region,” said Public Works Director Phil Nelson. “We are pleased the Clean Power Alliance is encouraging community members to adopt clean energy options through accessible financial assistance programs like Power Share.”

The City Council voted to join the Clean Power Alliance on February 26, 2018. The CPA is a public agency made up of 32 local governments across Los Angeles and Ventura counties to bring clean, renewable power choices to our communities. The CPA aims to provide sustainable energy from solar, wind, and hydroelectric power at affordable rates.

To sign-up for the Power Share Program, contact the Clean Power Alliance at (888) 585-3788 or visit www.CleanPowerAlliance.org/Power-Share for eligibility requirements. Customers should have a recent electric bill handy to locate their service account number.
