Ventura, Calif. - Applications are now open for the City of Ventura’s Cultural Funding Grant Program (CFGP). This year $103,000 in grant funding is available to support nonprofit arts or cultural organizations based in the City of Ventura. These funds may be used for organizational support, programming, and services, helping to strengthen the local arts and cultural community.
Applications for this grant cycle will close on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, with funding awarded for the period of July 2025 through August 2026.
“The Cultural Funding Grant Program plays a vital role in fostering our arts community, expanding cultural access, and supporting economic growth,” said Recreation Manager Rebecca Ellis. “We encourage Ventura-based nonprofit cultural and arts organizations to apply for this funding opportunity.”
First established in 1993, the Cultural Funding Grant Program supports the following cultural goals as stated in the “Our Creative Community” section of the 2005 Ventura General Plan:
- Support Ventura’s cultural infrastructure of arts organizations and artists.
- Ensure comprehensive access to and involvement in cultural opportunities by all segments of the community.
- Promote economic development and increase tourism through arts and culture.
- Enhance lifelong learning opportunities in the arts for all ages.
