Ventura Police to host Coffee with a Cop at Café Ficelle

Ventura, CA. – Community members are invited to join the Ventura Police Department for Coffee with a Cop at Café Ficelle, located at 390 S. Mills Road. This event will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Each Coffee with a Cop event offers a friendly, informal environment to discuss community concerns, strengthen relationships, and learn about the department’s ongoing outreach initiatives.

“Community engagement is more critical than ever before,” said Police Chief Darin Schindler. “We want to connect with our residents and businesses so residents know our team, trust our officers, and learn about crime prevention and safety information.”

Most contacts with law enforcement happen during emergency or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable or inaccessible on the street. Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction with the Chief of Police and the officers who patrol Ventura’s neighborhoods.
