As we settle into 2023, another "new year" is approaching. The celebration of Tu Bishvat, which is celebrated this Sunday into Monday, is the new year for the trees or Jewish Earth Day. Environmentalists among us use this holiday as an opportunity to educate and advocate for the health of our globe.

Some Kabbalists teach that humans hold within them a Divine spark. In order to release these divine sparks, on Tu Bishvat, they ate certain kinds of fruits and nuts which hide within them the seeds of life and potential growth.

So, too, did the founders of Elluminate (then the Jewish Women's Foundation of New York) have a spark to create change. We continue to honor their vision of supporting Jewish women through leadership and philanthropy. How will you release your spark this year?

Like many organizations in NYC and around the country, we have experienced some USPS delays and disruptions. Therefore, we want to be sure that you have our correct mailing address:

Melissa Rosen, c/o Elluminate, 909 Third Avenue #727, New York, NY 10150

As always, if you would like to make a gift, the most reliable option is through our website; we are also happy to help facilitate an electronic transfer (email us for assistance).

Is climate change a Jewish issue?

For Rabbi Jennie RosennFounder & CEO of Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action, the answer is yes. Jennie is building a multi-generational movement of American Jews that confronts the climate crisis with spiritual audacity and bold political action. Dayenu brings the full strength and voice of the American Jewish community in order to secure a just, livable, and sustainable world for all people.

Join us in advance of the Tu Bishvat holiday to say "Dayenu/We have had enough!" Together we will discuss actions we can take to advance bold solutions to the climate crisis.

This virtual event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Closed captioning will be provided. Bring your own Tu Bishvat treats!*

*Tu Bishvat is often marked by eating fruits and nuts.

Check us out in point number three: "Organizations like Elluminate's are working to ensure we tap into our community's full range of talent and address opportunities and challenges facing women and girls."

Elluminate is a proud partner of Repro Shabbat on February 17-18. This is a nationwide Shabbat celebration devoted to a world of true reproductive justice and health. Elluminate supports social innovation and gender equity. We promote excellence in philanthropy and in women's leadership. A philanthropist can have $10 or $10mm to give – the key is in her intentionality around charitable giving.

Our 25 years of experience in supporting philanthropists and grantmaking has led to the work we’re doing today - supporting visionary Jewish women social entrepreneurs and leaders.

When you support Elluminate, you’re supporting forty different organizations run by extraordinary, cutting-edge feminist leaders.

Thanks to your genderosity, Elluminate is where women's leadership is valued.
