Training and Peer Learning Sessions from Project RISE *


Emotion Coaching Virtual Training *

Children often have big feelings before they have an understanding of how to manage those emotions in a productive way. In this Emotion Coaching virtual training, participants will learn strategies and tools to help children gain the skills needed to effectively manage their emotions. Participants will also learn to identify opportunities to integrate lessons about emotions throughout programming.


The training takes place Wednesday, April 22, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Please register on the Trust Academy LMS or email us at projectrise@nova.edu to let us know you are interested in attending.

Youth Advisory Committee RFP Closing April 1

The Children's Trust is seeking proposals for a single organization to operate The Children’s Trust Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), a leadership development program for high school-age youth with a focus on service and civic engagement, especially relating to children and families in Miami-Dade County. The YAC serves as the youth voice of The Children’s Trust. The proposal should include student recruitment, staff engagement and retention, budgeting and purchasing, monthly meetings across Miami-Dade, activities, and local and out-of-town field trip planning and execution, student-led community service projects, and other program needs, while ensuring the program maintains The Children’s Trust YAC brand and identity. All proposals should also demonstrate experience with positive development of high school-age youth.

Training and Implementation Associates (TIA) is excited to launch Trauma Informed Care in Community Based Organizations, a new course designed for staff at every level! This training helps organizations address the daily impact of trauma on youth and families, while supporting staff well-being. Participants will gain practical, organization-wide strategies to integrate trauma-informed principles into all aspects of service delivery.

Child and Family Counselor Needed at Lotus House

The Children’s Services team at Lotus House Women’s Shelter is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless children and their families. It utilizes evidence-based, early assessments of our children and families to deepen our understanding of the breadth and depth of their needs, as well as evidence-based therapeutic interventions with measurable outcomes to support, heal and strengthen. Our team combines clinical services with the rigors of research to continuously improve our standards of care, measure the impact of different therapeutic models, offering therapeutic supports to our children and potentially advancing the status of sheltered children everywhere.


They are seeking a seasoned Master’s or Doctoral level therapist to provide individual and family therapy for the children and their mothers at the shelter in addition to families in the community of Overtown. The candidate should be either licensed or a registered intern in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology with the State of Florida. Therapists with experience and/or certification or training in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP); Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT); Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT); Video Feedback Interaction for Positive Parenting (VIPP); and/or Triple P (PPP) are also preferred. Clinicians with experience administering evidence-based assessments are also preferred.

The Advocacy Network on Disabilities (AND) is looking to hire a Client Support Specialist, to be responsible for assisting clients and all team members with administrative, clerical and general office support including answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, greeting and directing visitors, as well as additional clerical duties related to supporting all agency Programs.
