and Shabbat Dinner! (mark your calendars now!)

K-2 RECAP

On Sunday, Passover was explored using the five senses! The students smelled and tasted matzah. Thank you to Lucas and his family for bringing us Tam Tams. They related this and many other traditions we have at the Passover Seder to the story of Passover. Puppets to use to tell the Passover story were created as the students retold the story in class. They used their sense of sight and touch to create these puppets. For the sense of listening, the class listened and practiced singing the Four Questions. They can use the Four Questions sheet they took home to explain what the questions and answers are for this tradition we sing at the Seder. I hope all our families have a Happy Passover and remember that once we were slaves, and now we are free! Our next Sunday class will be April 27 and Chaverim Youth Group will be after class. Don't forget a dairy/pareve lunch. See you then!

3rd-6th RECAP

On Sunday, the teachers from our sister city in Zichron Yakov, Israel, visited our school. They listened to us practice from the Hagadah and prepare for our Shabbat service on May 16. They played Passover games with us and taught us about their school. Morah Iris gave us each letters that her students wrote to us and gifts that her students made for us. We will be writing letters back to the students very soon. Check out the pictures in the April folder and the Israel folder when you click on the RS Pictures above!

On Tuesday, we had the final opportunity to practice the Four Questions. We hope you will challenge your child to help lead at your seder. We also practiced other songs and prayers from the hagadah to help your child "show off" at your seder. We ended with Morah Marla showing the students her collection of hagadot and how even though they are all different, they are all the same!

We don't have class for the next two Sundays but we do have class on the Tuesdays. When we return on Sunday, April 27, we hope the students will stay for Chaverim Youth Group after class. Don't forget a dairy/pareve lunch.

The Shalom Hartman Institute’s Teen Fellowship is an extraordinary opportunity for Jewish high school students in grades 10-12 from across North America to cultivate their Jewish identities and worldviews. During this historic time for Israel and Jews around the world, young people continue to show up with strength, courage, and pride in their Jewish identity. They have big questions, face challenging dilemmas, and are searching for a community of mentors and peers that takes their ideas seriously. Click on the logo above to apply by May 1.
