7/8 Grade Welcome Back Dance
The Welcome Back Dance for 7
th & 8
th graders is Friday, September 14
th from 7-9:30 pm in the
TEMS cafeteria.
Tickets cost $5 each and will be sold the week of the dance in the mornings outside the circle window on the 2nd floor and during 7th and 8th grade lunches in the cafeteria. Dress for this dance is casual.

ATTENTION 5th GRADE PARENTS:
Join school counselors, mental health experts and experienced parents as they help you prepare for
your child's transition to middle school. This panel presentation and Q&A will cover important topics for middle schoolers such developmental and socio-emotional changes, the impact of technology, increasing independence, social grouping, making new friends, dating, limit-setting, Schoology and more - to help you be a more effective parent to your budding pre-teen.

Sports Update
Welcome to the Fall 2018/19 Season!! Here are some important dates for your planning purposes:
Fall Season Starts: September 11th
Even though the season starts on the 11th some coaches may meet with students before then.
Fall Sports Picture Day
: September 18th
The Photographer will meet teams during practices. No practice cancellation necessary.
Fall Sports Parent Meeting: September 17th from 4:30pm - 5:30pm
Practices will end around 4:15pm. Students are welcome to stay for the meeting.

Intramural After School Sports
Program will begin on Tuesday, September 11
th .
After school sports run Mon - Thu, from 2:33 - 3:10 for 5th and 6th grade only; parent pick-up is by 3:15
Transportation:
Due to rising enrollment, no music shuttles will be available for after school sports
All students participating in after school sports must make arrangements for transportation or have permission to walk home.
Sports Forms:
Due to new district sports policies, all participating students must have a Sudden Cardiac Arrest Acknowledgement Form and a Concussion Information and Acknowledgement Form signed and on file before participation is permitted. Once all forms are submitted, clearance to participate will begin the next school day.

New Family Coffee
The TEMS Welcoming Committee is holding New Family Coffees/Lunches once per month for families that are new to the district. There is no official agenda or topic of the month; it's an informal way for us to get to know each other and to answer whatever questions you have.

The TEMS Student Directory is a booklet the PTO publishes that contains almost all of our students' contact information.
It also has useful information about TEMS such as schedules, staff, and much more!

th Grade students and New Students - if you would like your information published in the student directory, please e-mail any/all of the following to
TEMSstudentdirectory@gmail.com: student name, grade, address, home phone number, parents' names, e-mail addresses and cell phone numbers.
Deadline to submit new information is Sept. 14, 2018
Returning students
- we will publish last year's information UNLESS you notify us of any changes via the e-mail above.

The TEMS Green Initiative is happy to announce that you may RECYCLE the following items here at school NOW through the end of June. Recycle Bins are located inside the front entrance of the school.
