Dear PARA Member,
This year is the 25th anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001 on the World Trade Center. The Port Authority is planning a special remembrance led by Lillian Valenti, Chief Emeritus, and Alan Reiss, Deputy Director, Major Capital Programs, with particular participation by Port Authority and PATH retirees.
The 33rd Anniversary of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center will be marked by a remembrance mass on February 26 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Church, 22 Barclay Street, NYC. A brief service follows at noon on the WTC Memorial Plaza by the North Pool.
The trauma of the victims’ families and survivors is often overshadowed by the devastation of September 11th. If possible, increased in-person and online attendance will show that we will never forget this date. A livestream of the mass will be available via www.panynj.gov, as well as on the Port Authority’s YouTube Channel (https://youtube.com/@portauthorityinfo).
As Port Authority retirees, it’s important to send a powerful message to those who will come after us to learn, internalize and continue to “carry the remembrance torch.”
Thank you for helping us to advocate for the larger Port Authority and PATH retiree community.
Very Sincerely Yours,
The PARA Board
