Good News Church Family & Friends,
Our children's ministry transition to Jambo's this past Sunday could not have been better! It was also great to have Jambo's CEO and Founder, Rebekah Black, join us for worship. If you missed it, we shared a brief video of Rebekah sharing the heart, vision, and purpose of Jambo's. To watch the video, click here.
This upcoming Memorial Day Weekend is a great time to reflect with gratitude on the sacrifices made on our behalf by courageous men and women in the U.S. military who have given their lives to purchase our freedom. It's also a time to reflect with gratitude spiritually as to the gift of life we've been given in Jesus Christ who willingly laid down His life and was resurrected from the grave to secure for us eternal life. As American Christians, we are truly a blessed people.
I invite you to join one of my family's favorite Memorial Day traditions, and to watch the National Memorial Day Concert (Sunday, 8pm on PBS) as a way of remembering with gratitude the sacrifices that have been made for our freedom. I'd also recommend watching this powerful video tribute to Navy Seal Michael Monsoon who jumped on a grenade in Iraq to save the lives of the three other soldiers on his team.

SUMMER HAPPENINGS
WOMEN'S SUMMER BIBLE STUDY "BAD GIRLS OF THE BIBLE"
Join us for our Summer Women’s Study! We are planning 5 nights to gather and learn more about women in the Bible, using the "Bad Girls of the Bible" book by Liz Curtis Higgs. We know Summer schedules can be inconsistent, so each study will be a “stand alone” study - not building or following up to the next. So, mark your calendar for June 3, 17, July 1, 15, and 29. We will have appetizers/finger foods, casual interaction, a 15 minute video and discussion. For details and locations, click here.
SUMMER HOUSE CHURCH SUNDAYS - June 14 and July 19 (10am - 12pm)
Mark your calendars for these two fun opportunities to gather in smaller, local communities in our homes. For details and suggested location assignments, click here.
GOOD NEWS GIRLS' NIGHT - June 24 (6pm - 8:30pm) at The Hot Spot
Join us for a creative Girls' Night at The Hot Spot Studios in downtown Sugar Hill on Wednesday, June 24, from 6:00–8:30 PM! A light dinner will be served. For details, click here.

INSPIRATION
Quote of the Week
“A hero is not someone who wears a cape. A hero is someone who puts themselves at risk for the benefit of another, whether it’s someone next to them on the battlefield or for a generation that hasn’t been born yet.” - Oliver North
Verse of the Week
“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” - Psalm 62:1-2

VISION & VALUES
The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:6b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.
-----------------------------------
MISSION
The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."
