Beah Richards…A Jewel!

Abeni Jewel Haynes is a name you should probably note for future reference. Someday, the stage and screen will be hers to command in a big way. It’s just a matter of time. Ask veterans like Dr. Curtis King at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, if you doubt me.

For many Dallas teens, reacting without thinking can be deadly. A new effort within DISD can help.
Aim of BAM and WOW may sound naive, but Mayor’s Task Force on Safe Communities focused on data-driven results in recommending them.

We all occasionally fly off the handle without thinking first. Thankfully, the consequences are usually trivial. But sometimes those consequences are fatal. That’s the hard reality behind, for instance, evidence-based training that teaches police officers to de-escalate volatile situations before resorting to lethal force.

The Path

As we walk through life's journey, we leave footprints. Some just show where we are going. Others redirect us when we get lost. Still others remain to guide those we leave behind. I see your footprints.
