MESSAGE FROM MAYOR KLING

Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with the family and friends of Jose DeLeon, who passed away early this morning.

It has been my privilege to work with Jose for 12 years in various roles. Jose, pictured on the far right, has been a source of connection and encouragement for the Nampa community. He was well respected, had an amazing sense of humor and was a friend to all. We were so honored to have Jose as the Facility Manager for the Idaho Hispanic Community Center most recently.

While his time with us was cut short, I will be forever grateful to call him my friend. You will be missed, Jose.

-Mayor Debbie

CITIZEN'S ACADEMY: WEEK 9

Final Week: Parks and Recreation

The 2025 Citizen's Academy has officially concluded! In our ninth and final week, the class visited the Harward Recreation Center and heard from the Parks and Recreation Department. Did you know Nampa has 27 parks, 23 playgrounds, 15 miles of pedestrian pathway, 17 pickleball courts, two splash pads, and 25 diamond fields - with six more coming? And much, much more!

The class concluded with a quick tour of the Harward Recreation Center and Nampa Senior Center. To learn more, click here.

Thank you to each person who took time on Tuesday evenings for nine weeks to learn about their city government. On behalf of all the staff, who also took time to share about their departments, we appreciate you!
