Dear friends and neighbors,

On Friday, we said our final goodbye to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Throughout her career, Justice Ginsburg was a pioneer for gender equality. As a first-year Harvard law student, she was one of the nine women in a 500-person class and became the first female professor at Columbia to earn tenure. She would later co-found the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project, paving the way for groundbreaking work around issues like pregnancy and parenting, education equity and equal pay. Undoubtedly, Justice Ginsburg set a precedent for women everywhere and continued the fight for equal and civil rights as a Supreme Court Justice.

As we pay our respects and remember her life, let us celebrate her trailblazing spirit that embodied justice, brilliance and goodness. May she Rest In Peace.

Feeding Central Florida
This past weekend, I was humbled to volunteer with Commissioner Viviana Janer at her
Farm Share Florida food distribution event in Buena Ventura Lakes helping 500 families! We must come together to lift up families in need during this COVID-19 crisis.
Honoring Missing Service Members
I was honored to attend POW MIA RecognitionDay event at Museum of Military History in Osceola County. We will never forget them.
Remembering Hurricane Maria
Three years ago Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. Over the weekend, I was able to hear stories of the tragedy and triumph from survivors who now live in Central Florida. We thank Organize Florida and Super 8 Motel owner Patrick for hosting the event and working with us on five extensions of TSA hotel vouchers during the crisis.

Supporting Victims of Gun Violence
This week, I wore an orange mask to mark over 575 days since the House passed HR 8. Today as gun deaths continue to rise, we urge the Senate to take action.
Honoring Justice Ginsburg
Today, I paid my respects to Ruth Bader Ginsburg at the Supreme Court. Being there made one thing clear: we must do right by her legacy, we must honor her final wish. We owe it to her and to all future generations of Americans.
Committee Clip of the Week
Fighting for the Seminole Tribe of Florida
The Seminole Tribe of Florida should not require an Act of Congress just to conduct its daily affairs like buying, selling and financing land. This week, I joined the House Committee on Natural Resources to talk about my bipartisan bill, HR 7565, which restores economic freedom to the Seminole Tribe of Florida!
During this time of stress and uncertainty, each of you should know that I am here to support you. On behalf of the hard-working families of Central Florida and all Americans, I will continue to work tirelessly with the House Democratic Majority and across the aisle to put you first and protect Americans’ health, safety and economic security.
