I was shocked to find out that my friend Shriya Shah-Klorfine died over the weekend while living her dream of conquering Mt Everest.

Heres a few news clips:

and some pics:

She made it too the top and planted the Canadian Flag and was on her way back down when the mishap occurred

I knew Shriya as a feisty visionary who thought nothing impossible even reminding us that the word itself meant I'M POSSIBLE .. She not only wanted to conquer the tallest mountain in the world but raise money for a great cause like Sick Childrens Hospital here in Toronto and inspire teens to live into their greatness.

Shriya's death will not be in vain if I can remember only one thing out of so many lessons beyond life being so precious and fragile and that I must make this day, TODAY COUNT - ALL 86,400 seconds of it.

.. and Shriya put her life on the line to live her dream.

I learned recently that when we feel so strongly about a cause that we're willing to die for our convictions .. NOTHING becomes I'M POSSIBLE

While I relaxed in the gorgeous sunshine this past weekend, Shriya was fighting for her life conquering The Mountain .. TODAY, I'M searching for my own mountain to conquer knowing I'M POSSIBLE

Thanks Shriya,  keep leading the way

PS: I copied below the last email I received from Shriya, to a few of her friends, where she describes her mood before her final ascend .. Catch the vision and excitement of a woman going for it all in her words:

Hi all,

Hope all is doing well!!

April 29th, Nepal local time is about 4:45pm. must be night there....Today is rest day after 4-5 days of chill and difficult. I came back base camp 5400m after I reached 6740m.
One night camp one 6000m. 3 nights camp 2 about 6400m. last day of camp 2 I tried to go 70% of camp 3. Camp 3 road is just made so it's not safe to climb wall of camp 3 yet, ppl are saying lots of raw wall ice is falling above so must wait week to climb last 30% of camp 3 road.

Tomorrow I will be going down to about 4400m. make myself fresh, I think we will stay there abut 4-5 days till then all the climbers body gets fresh oxygen to climb summit. After come back we will try to start mission. It will be about 2nd week of May.

There are few incidents, some are good and some of them are bad, but we all know this is life of Everest. By God Grace and all of your prayers I am  doing fabulous, no altitude issue...I do see the best sports athletic ppl are getting altitude sickness, every day min. 4 helicopter rescue has been taking altitude sickness ppl back to Katmandu from Everest Base Camp. I do prayer to keep safe all the ppl that are here with big hope and dream. And thank to God and all of you to keep me safe and give me courage!

I will not say I miss you because at present all my mind is to fit my body for my Summit! But I do think all of you, I may not take everyone name but I do pray with one word "keep everyone safe and happy"...and i must say i am also include on that everyone, so i haven't miss anyone :)
