Panelist: Chris Bert, Quality Assurance Manager, GSK Vaccines
Chris is a Quality Assurance Manager for GlaxoSmithKline at their North America Vaccine Regional Distribution Center. During his decade long tenure at GSK, he has held responsibilities related to reviewing and reacting to temperature data during the transport of temperature sensitive vaccines. Throughout his 17 years in Quality Assurance, he has been involved with cold chain transportation by road, air, sea, and in various passive and active packaging solutions. Chris earned a degree in Political Science from Messiah College, PA
Panelist: Patrick Pillsbury, Director, Logistics and Global Trade Compliance, Portola Pharmaceuticals
Patrick is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker with an advanced degree in Transportation and Logistics (M.S.), Patrick currently works for Portola Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in S. San Francisco as Associate Director, Global Trade Compliance and Logistics. At Portola, Patrick leads all aspects of distribution activities, including transportation validation and qualification of both active and passive cold-chain solutions, carrier management, lane risk assessments, and cloud-based visibility platforms centered on cold-chain data and transportation management. Prior to Portola, he managed the logistics and trade compliance functions for Pharmacyclics, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA. This, following a successful tenure in freight forwarding and ocean freight transportation, which included stints with large carrier groups such as Hanjin Shipping, Hamburg Sud and Hapag-Lloyd, in both sales and pricing roles.

He lives in the Boston area with his wife and daughter.
