Reminder + More Details for Meet and Greets with Bishop Nominees

All members of the Diocese of Florida are invited to attend one or more of the bishop nominee Meet and Greets which will take place on August 17, 19, and 21. Please review the details below to learn more about the purpose and structure of the Meet and Greets.

WHO:

All members of the Diocese of Florida and the three nominees for our IX Bishop: the Rev. Randy Alexander, the Rev. Dorian Del Priore, and the Very Rev. Tom Purdy.

WHAT:

Prayer, light refreshments, and facilitated breakout sessions to hear each nominee’s responses to questions about their views and prayers for our diocese. PLUS, all of the sessions will be video recorded!

WHEN & WHERE:

Monday, August 17 – Christ Church, Ponte Vedra Beach
Wednesday, August 19 – Holy Trinity, Gainesville
Friday, August 21 – Holy Comforter, Tallahassee

HOW:

Submit questions in advance to the Transition Committee by August 14.
Preregister to attend one, two, or all three Meet and Greets in person. Registration closes on August 14!
Watch recorded videos of all of the breakout sessions held in Ponte Vedra Beach, Gainesville, and Tallahassee that will be posted at DioceseFL.org/Bishop-Election the following week.

WHY: These live events will provide the nominees and attendees an opportunity for fellowship, followed by topic-focused sessions. Here’s the agenda:

5:30 p.m. Meet and Greet reception with light refreshments
6:15 p.m. Gather in the church for opening prayer, formal introductions, and directions for the breakouts. There will be two or three breakout rooms per location with different topics in each room. The breakout sessions will be guided by facilitated questions.
7:00–7:30 p.m. Breakout Session One*
7:40-8:10 p.m. Breakout Session Two*
8:15-8:45 p.m. Breakout Session Three*
8:50 p.m. Reconvene in the church for wrap-up & closing prayers
9:00 p.m. Adjourn

*The three nominees will visit each facilitated breakout session individually, responding to the same pre-submitted questions. Follow-up questions will be collected during the live sessions and addressed if time permits. Each Meet and Greet event will focus on one or more ministry areas—for example, one event may focus on Outreach & Missions; another may focus on Church Growth. Audio/video recordings of all of the sessions will be available the following week.
