Reminder - New Process for Educational Planning for the School of Undergraduate Studies
We understand that creating individual just-in-time (JIT) sections of Educational Planning for each mentee is time consuming and a lot of work for mentors. To streamline the process, a new plan will be implemented for fall 2022.

Each mentor will be assigned four CRNs which represent one section of each of the following courses:

  • EDPL 1005- Educational Planning: Introductory I, 2 credits
  • EDPL 1010- Educational Planning: Introductory II, 4 credits
  • EDPL 3005- Educational Planning: Advanced I, 2 credits
  • EDPL 3010- Educational Planning: Advanced II, 4 credits

These courses were picked based on enrollment data; these four courses were the most frequently offered. To prevent students from registering with the wrong mentor, the course sections will not be listed in the Term Guide. This means that each mentor will be responsible for providing their mentees with the correct CRN for registration.

This change in process consolidates EDPL offerings to four sections per term for each mentor, greatly reducing the number of individual class rosters to track and grade. If you need to offer a different educational planning course or your student needs an Express Term option, you can still create a JIT section. Keep in mind, due to the change in practice of merging course sections in the LMS, you will not be able to merge multiple courses in one course shell.

You will be receiving an email with the CRNS that are specific to you as a mentor in the next week. A search page only for EDPL courses has been created for additional look up support; this is for ESC faculty and staff only. This will be accessible in MyESC and Self Service Banner
