Tomorrow, July 11
North Branch Industrial Corridor Mtg
Hampden Court Project Proposal
|
Dear Neighbor,
Tomorrow, the Department of Planning and Development has scheduled multiple, simultaneous, community meetings regarding the proposed rezoning of the North Branch Industrial Corridor. The ordinance allows developers to pay "density bonuses," 70% of which would pay for infrastructure improvements. With regard to
recreational space, however, as reported in our
newsletter, the proposed ordinance only states that at least ten acres of open space is a "desired new amenity" that could be "distributed among various development sites."
The meeting for the 43rd Ward is
Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
at Adams Playlot,
located at 1
919 N. Seminary Avenue. Click
here for more information about other meeting locations.
Please attend this meeting to continue our fight for needed park space in the community.

Lincoln-Montana Demolition and Construction
Community Meeting Tonight
Salvage and demolition for the Lincoln-Montana building began on Thursday, July 6, 2017. At tonight's Wrightwood Neighborhood Association's monthly meeting, developer Blitzlake will present construction logistics. The meeting will be held at 7:30 PM at New Life Community Church, 1110 W Lill, with a complimentary dinner at 6:30 PM and the 19th District CAPS meeting at 7 PM.
We're proud that thanks to the community agreement developed between Wrightwood Neighbors, our office and the developers, terra cotta from the existing building on site will be donated to the Illinois Railway Museum for its new visitor center.

Proposed Developments on Hampden and Diversey before Chicago Plan Commission July 20
Developers have proposed a 15-unit building at
2751 N. Hampden Court and a 30 unit building for 521 W. Diversey Ave.
Two years ago, our office rejected a 17-story tower with 78 units for this site. As a result, this development is proceeding "as of right," with a 6 story building on Diversey with 30 apartments and ground level retail, and a 7 story building on Hampden Court with 15 units. Click

for more information on this project. While this development is proceeding "as of right," under the Chicago Lakefront Protection Ordinance, approval is required from the
Chicago Plan Commission.
