JOIN US!
Please join the Y and our community on Friday, January 15, 8-9 a.m. at the 32nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration as we grow support for social justice and celebrate the important work of Dr. King and today’s civic leaders.

Hear from respected community leaders including Wayne Boatwright of Hackensack Meridian Health, YMCA of Greater Monmouth County President & CEO Laurie Goganzer, Rabbi Marc Kline of Monmouth Reform Temple, this year's Dr. King Human Dignity Award Recipient Gwendolyn Love of Lunch Break, Gilda Rogers of T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center, Reverend Ronald Sparks of Bethel AME Freehold, this year’s Keynote Speaker Pastor Kerwin Webb of Second Baptist Church Asbury Park and President of the Greater Red Bank Area NAACP, and YMCA Board Member and MLK Event Chair, Michael Wright.
The Human Dignity award honors an individual who reflects Dr. King’s principles and ideals in philosophy and action, and we are proud to celebrate Gwen Love's commitment to lifting our neighbors in need. Read our press release.
CONGRATULATIONS, ESSAY WINNERS!
We thank all high school students who participated in our annual MLK Essay Contest, answering the question "One person’s seemingly small actions can change the world. How could you use your voice to promote and advance social justice within your community and circle of influence?"

Two students were selected as grand prize winners and will share their essays at our event. Both winners will receive a $1,500 scholarship for their education, generously donated by Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey Natural Gas and PorterPlus Realty, as well as a full-year youth membership to a YMCA of Greater Monmouth County branch of their choice. Congratulations!
Alexandra Lewis, Red Bank Regional High School
