Fall Fun at Pathways

Fun Pathways fall festivities incorporated art and STEM activities including, making masks, preparing to explode pumpkins, stacking apple towers, making slime, and creating candy corn on the cob!

Kudos to Pathways Catonsville

Pathways' schools are approved by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). When opening a new location, a comprehensive process is required involving submission of plans, review of service documentation and student records, and three annual MSDE site visits to ensure compliance with Maryland regulations. In October, the Catonsville community-based program had its third annual site visit with representatives of MSDE and local school systems, which it passed with an astonishing perfect rating, making it fully approved to serve students grades 6-12. Thanks and congratulations to Principal Forrest Flanders and his amazing staff for the hard work and expertise that have gone into this accomplishment.

Spotlight

on Dr. Helen Williams and Kiwanis

The Kiwanis Club of Wheaton-Silver Spring has continued to be a long-time supporter of Pathways under the leadership of the club President and former Pathways Executive Director, Dr. Helen Williams. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Dr. DuBeau had the honor of attending the club luncheon to recognize Dr. Williams receiving the Kiwanis Children's Fund George F. Hixon Fellowship award "for generosity and inspiration that extends her Kiwanis impact". This year, as in past years, they have continued to generously donate funds to make the holidays brighter and recognition stronger for Pathways students. Thank you so much to Dr. Williams and Kiwanis.

Clubs Engage Students

Wednesdays are special at Edgewood - CLUB DAY! Students select a club of interest to them and participate for about an hour. This year's choices include STEM challenges, chess, dancing, gaming, and fashion. Clubs give school-based and community-based students an opportunity to come together to explore their interests and spend time with others who share their passion. If you have something you are passionate about that you would like to share with our students, let us know!
