This survey has been initiated and funded by an Alliance between Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Pfizer Ltd (the BMS-Pfizer Alliance), working in partnership with the AF Association, Anticoagulation UK and Arrhythmia Alliance.

We are partnering with Adelphi Research UK in carrying out a piece of research to capture the views and opinions of patients with atrial fibrillation (“AF”, an irregular heart rhythm).

Why are we doing this?
This research will be used to understand the information currently provided to patients when they are diagnosed with AF to see if patients are receiving the most up to date information and if any changes are needed.

To reassure you…. The research will be conducted in line with all applicable legislation and guidelines which include the MRS Guidelines, BHBIA Legal & Ethical Guidelines, the ABPI Code of Practice and Data Protection Legislation.

What is involved?
As part of this, we are looking for patients who have been diagnosed with AF in the past 18 months. The research will take the form of a short online survey of no more than 10 minutes that can be completed on either your phone or a laptop. You also have the option of completing a postal survey if you would like to do so.

What are the intended outputs from the research?
The outputs from the research will be incorporated into a PowerPoint report.

What will the outputs be used for?

The AF Assoc will use the results for a range of purposes including:
  • Content for AF Assoc websites
  • Part of a public awareness campaign via social and mainstream media
  • To inform publicity statements
  • A possible written report

What will happen to my personal data?
