It was an honor and a pleasure to interview Dr. Nnedi Okorafor at Call and Response Books. Owner Courtney Bledsoe was a delight to work with and Dr. Nnedi captivated the audience with tales of her journey to legendary author stardom. I gave a special salutory salute to Semicolon bookstore who has unfortunately closed their doors. I felt it extremely significant that the three of us collaborated to continue the rich history of Black literature and how Black booksellers support the cycle of excellence. Dr. Nnedi's new release, "Death of the Author" sold out. This event was a great success.
MLK JR Breakfast in Connecticut
Another thank you to Trinity United Church of Christ for inviting us to provide Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, III's best selling book, "Dancing in the Darkness" at the Dr. MLK Jr Breakfast in Connecticut. Special thanks to Dr. Vangella Buchanan of The Writery Ink for partnering with us to make this happen.
Dr. Otis Moss sits centered in the picture and author and on-site sales rep James Dale stands far right. Thanks to all for making this a huge success.
Marcus Garvey Pardon
On the last day of his presidency Joe Biden pardons the great and grand pan-African leader Marcus Garvey. He is one of our greatest treasures. This has been a long road to victory; and there's always more to be done.
