About the Event:

Overview: Join JNCL-NCLIS leadership for a one-day in-person world language education advocacy and networking event this fall in Washington, DC! During this event, JNCL-NCLIS official delegates and members will meet with federal legislators on Capitol Hill to garner support for and advance one piece of language education legislation. This advocacy action day will also include an America’s Languages Caucus briefing to address pressing issues in the field today. Following meetings on Capitol Hill, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a networking reception at the Planet Word Museum to celebrate the importance of multilingualism.


What: A new, in-person opportunity for experienced language advocates to meet with federal legislators on Capitol Hill to advocate for one language education legislative ask and network with each other and special guests during an evening reception

Who: A limited number (100) of JNCL-NCLIS official delegates and members

Why: An in-person opportunity for experienced advocates to meet with legislators to garner support for and advance one focused piece of legislation

Where/When: Washington, D.C., October 16th, 2023

Cost: Tickets are $159, or take advantage of 20% savings by purchasing a combo registration which includes both the Advocacy Action Day and Language Advocacy Days 2024 events for $300. The hotel room block will be $257 per night at the Residence Inn Washington, DC Downtown.

  • Evening networking reception at Planet Word Museum
