The Protect Ohio Children Coalition is extremely excited to announce two new leaders to our board.  Lauren Bowen will be developing our strategy and leading our efforts to expose the over-reach of the teachers unions in Ohio.

Lindsay Lewis will be developing our strategy and leading our efforts to protect children from inappropriate books in our Ohio schools and libraries.

These two women are highly qualified and have already demonstrated impressive results in their respective areas of focus!

Lauren Bowen

I am lifelong Ohio resident. And call Cincinnati home. I have a master’s degree in international politics with a focus on radical Islamic terrorism in western democracies, from Wright State University.

As Ohio State Director for the Freedom Foundation, I lead a mission to arm public employees with the truth about their First Amendment rights to choose union membership. I engage external stakeholders to connect them with our endeavor to help public employees and teachers to act on their rights to leave their union. I build partnerships with leaders and influencers in the conservative movement in Ohio to neutralize the asymmetrical political power of government labor organizations.

Prior to joining the Freedom Foundation, I led a government transparency initiative -the Ohio Checkbook project. This innovative digital tool was designed to help taxpayers understand how every dime of their money was being spent by state and local governments. Because of my passion and conviction 900 schools and local governments agreed to publish their spending data online.

I am a conservative because I firmly believe that our rights come from God. Our founding fathers designed the constitution to preserve our Judeo-Christian heritage. Because of their brilliance and intuition, individuals have unprecedented power over the ruling class. Even current times, the promises of individual liberty embodied in the U.S. Constitution extends each American the authority to uphold the truth, pursue righteousness, confront evil, and cherish human life. Those heartfelt convictions are why I am proud to call myself a conservative.

Lindsay Lewis

While coming to faith as a young child, my own walk with God took many twists and turns. It was during a season of much growth in early marriage that following Jesus became priority and would continue to define my life. It took many years for me to realize the education that I had been given both in secondary and college was only to further an agenda to continue to decay our country. I take seriously the indoctrination that is occurring in cities across Ohio (and the entire nation), right under parent’s noses, and am an advocate for Christian parents to make a mass exodus.

Before beginning my current career in product development management with a homeschool curriculum publisher, I was a government school educator for ten years as an intervention specialist with special needs children. In 2014, pregnant with our first child, my husband and I felt God calling us to home educate and redirect our lives. I changed districts to work virtually for a government charter school as an intervention specialist for several years, before God provided a way out of government schooling to the publishing company I now work for. While working from home with the curriculum publisher, I am also home educating our 4 children with my husband of 15 years who is a veteran of the military. I speak frequently to other parents who would like to home educate to both encourage and guide them through the process of getting out of the government system.

I hold a B.A in Music Education and two M.As in Education, one in Adolescent and Young Adult Literature/English and the other in Intervention, with a focus on Autism. My master’s thesis research was on the use of educational technology. While currenting residing in Ashland, Ohio, I am from a small town in northwest Ohio where I grew up on a multi-generational farm.
